Blog Week 1

        As the years go by, the world is becoming more digital and connected. I believe we should also adapt and learn how to navigate our way through this digital age. One thing that came with the internet was social media. Social media has helped the world become more connected and informed. Before social media, people had limited ways of interacting, like emails and phone calls. People's sources of information on current events were also limited by the few media outlets like radio, TV, and newspapers. My expectations for this course are not just to learn but to be able to create well-put-together work that will get people's attention. Learning a skill like social media design opens up a lot of job opportunities since many businesses realize how much better their business can do with the help of social media. This skill also makes it easier and cheaper for people who want to create a business. Today, everyone I know at least has one social media app on their phone. For many, social media has been seen as both positive and controversial. My experience with social media has been mainly positive due to the fact that it has increased the amount of information I take in. Although social media in my eyes, is a good thing, I have also noticed that it consumes most of my time, and I have to be careful of everything I see, especially because there has been an increase in misinformation. Overall, I just hope to learn as much as possible to quickly put these skills to work.
